Kwara court remands 62-year-old ‘kidnapper’
The Ilorin Magistrate's Court remanded Dodo Abubakar, a 62-year-old herdsman, to jail on charges that he kidnapped one Abubakar Umoru in the Kaiama local government area of Kwara State.

After learning that Abubakar had kidnapped his son over the phone, the victim's father, Umoru Abdullahi, filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the police station, according to the FIR.

The FIR states that the suspected kidnapper demanded an N3 million ransom.

The motion exparte requesting the suspect's remand was submitted with the police report, and the prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni, informed the judge.

As a result of the judge's decision in favour of the prosecution, the suspect must remain in a detention facility until December 20, 2022.
