Lawrence Okolie vs David Light get date for UK fight

 Lawrence Okolie, the WBO cruiserweight champion, and mandatory challenger David Light have dodged the impending purse bid. Both guys provided signed contracts committing them to meet on a BOXXER performance in London on March 11.

However, things may get quite tricky.

Okolie (18-0, 14 KO) and Matchroom are reportedly still at odds over whether his 2020 fight with late substitute Nikodem Jezewski counts as one of his legally required fights.

Ben Shalom asserted that the matter had been settled, but Eddie Hearn has yet to acknowledge it. When I last checked, he seemed keen on keeping Okolie from going.

Okolie shouldn't be particularly concerned about Light (20-0, 12 KO), who most recently stunned Brandon Glanton in a final eliminator.

However, there is at least one source of curiosity because there is every reason to think Okolie may not be at his best.
