Marcus Rashford's goal and an assist helped Manchester United defeat Nottingham Forest despite having a reduced roster due to sickness. Now only one point separates the Red Devils from the top four.

Christian Eriksen set up Rashford in a deliberate corner play, and after 19 minutes, Rashford scored the game's opening goal with an impressive finish. He took advantage of Forest's failure to keep an eye on his run and swept a first-time shot past Wayne Hennessey.

Three minutes later, the Englishman exchanged positions, cutting in from the left wing and passing to Antony Martial, who fired a low drive from the edge of the box that was saved by Hennessey.

Before the substitute, the Forest goalie denied Antony, Martial, and Rashford. After Casemiro, a fellow Brazilian made an outstanding through ball, Fred scored three minutes from the end.

Forest was never able to bounce back from those two first-half setbacks, even having a goal ruled out by VAR just before the break.

Since August 20, Steve Cooper's club hasn't scored a league goal away from the City Ground.

The outcome earned United their fourth straight victory in all competitions and further demonstrated that the Red Devils' title chances won't be dashed by Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.
