The Army has announced that it will begin recruiting eligible Nigerians for its 84 Regular Recruit Intakes across the country.

The Director, Army Headquarters Department of Recruitment, Resettlement, and Reserve, Brig.-Gen. David J. Smith, stated as much. Mustapha Garba in Abuja on Friday.

Mr Garba stated that the exercise, which began on December 5, was designed to select eligible Nigerians from the federation's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory based on federal character.

During an assessment tour at 23 Brigade Yola in Adamawa, the director charged the recruitment officers with selecting the best candidates for the Nigerian Army.

He also urged candidates to give their best effort in order to be considered for the Nigerian army.

The screening exercise involves documentation, pre-medical and physical phases, among others.
