Ogun Police Command arrests suspected female kidnapper
A 27-year-old lady named Mariam Ayila has been detained by the Ogun State Police Command for the kidnapping of Sofiat Yusau, a 13-year-old girl.

Ismail Yusau reported that he sent his daughter on an errand to Agbara market at around 11 am of the day, only to receive a strange call a few hours later from an unknown person, informing him that his daughter had been kidnapped and that if he didn't send the sum of money, he would lose his daughter. According to a press release issued by the Command's public relations officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect

“Following the report, CSP Abiodun Salau of the DPO Agbara division organised his Crack Detectives and sent them on a technical and intelligence-based inquiry.

"Their efforts paid off when the culprit was located at her hiding place in the Atan ota region, where she was quickly apprehended, and the young girl was saved unharmed.

The suspect had previously abducted a little girl in the Itele Ota region on December 19, 2022, and ransom had been given to her before she released her victim, according to a preliminary inquiry, Oyeyemi added.

Meanwhile, CP Lanre Bankole, the state's commissioner of police, has ordered that the suspect be turned over to the state's criminal investigation department's anti-kidnapping squad for additional inquiry and prosecution.
