Policeman held for killing Lagos lawyer

A police officer from the Ajah Police Station shot and killed Bolanle Raheem, a female lawyer, on Sunday. The Ajah neighbourhood in Lagos State was incredibly messy as a result.

The cop, who was accompanied by other officers, fled the scene, causing havoc in the neighbourhood.

However, he was captured and held by police enforcement.

A police officer tried to stop Raheem, her sister, and four kids in their car at approximately 11 a.m.

The woman was attempting a U-turn beneath the Ajah Bridge when the cop opened fire on her car, according to information the police have gathered.

According to reports, the victim was shot in the head and later declared dead at a nearby hospital.

Public communications officer for the state police Benjamin Hundeyin verified the incident and stated that the involved officer was under custody.

He said, "The officer engaged in the shooting is an ASP," and stated that the officer had been detained and would be sent to the State Criminal Inquiry Department in Panti for additional investigation.
