Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former minister for Niger Delta Affairs, has pleaded with Akwa Ibom State party leaders and stakeholders to put aside their differences and cooperate to guarantee the All Progressives Congress wins the forthcoming general election in 2023.
The former governor of Akwa Ibom State told party stakeholder attendees gathered in Uyo on Friday that "there is truly no crisis in the state chapter of the party, underlining that what you are seeing today is a storm in a teacup."
"Today's meeting" would be sufficient to "settle all concerns and bury our disagreements," according to the former governor of Akwa Ibom State. There is absolutely no problem, and we can resolve anything.
According to the former minority leader in the Senate, the party's issues were caused by members who didn't treat others with respect. He recommended that the party learn from what transpired in Calabar, when Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party's presidential candidate, intervened to settle arguments around the party's gubernatorial candidate in that state.
He asserted that we can act similarly in Akwa Ibom State.
The National Vice Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council continued, “I will contribute my quota to the success of this presidential rally next year.
In his remarks, Akpabio complimented the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs for his accomplishments so far in office, especially with reference to the publication of the projects that the government has been working on.
“I was quite impressed when the minister published the projects embarked upon by the ministry. It didn’t matter whether they were projects embarked upon by Pastor Usani or myself. I must commend him for that and will extend to him all the support he will need to succeed,” he emphasised.
Ex-Representative Hon. Iquo Inyang spoke on behalf of the women and praised Senator Akpabio for his leadership, saying that no one can deny the enormous success he has made in altering the face of the state.
She pleaded with party leaders to clean up the House so the party could win the upcoming elections.
The many notable people present at the meeting are Chief Sunny Jackson, Chief Sam Ewang, Mr Akan Udofia, and Senator Effiong Nelson.
