A senior naval officer of Japan is expected to face trial on suspicion of leaking the state military secret. The Maritime Self-Defense Force captain is believed to have committed the offence when a former MSDF admiral asked him for some information
Japanese Defense Ministry is set to take disciplinary action against the captain and the other MSDF personnel this week.
However, no evidence has been reported that the leaked information has been given to another country.
Under the secrecy law, which took effect in 2014, the violators face up to 10 years in prison.
