Jesus of Arsenal and Alex Telles of Sevilla will both miss the remainder of the World Cup due to knee injuries sustained in Friday's loss to Cameroon.
According to recent reports from Brazil, the 25-year-old, who has been essential to Arsenal's success this season, could be out for up to three months.
Additionally, there have been rumours that Jesus initially experienced an issue prior to playing against Cameroon, but Tite vehemently refuted these reports in his press conference prior to Monday's match with South Korea.
Tite declared, "I don't like hearing lies, terrible lies, because those [come from] the ones who wish to do ill things for others.
We never, ever play for winning at the expense of a player's safety, so the haters out there who keep spewing hate should go do something else and stop spreading lies. We have a top-notch medical division, just like Arsenal does. We are moral and accountable. I feel awfully bad for Gabriel. We spoke with him on Saturday together with Thiago [Silva], Marquinhos, and Telles. After that, we brought in Cesar [Sampaio], an experienced assistant coach. The goal was to help people feel better, stronger, and able to participate as much as possible—not to make the agony go away.
Brazil's 1998 World Cup participant Sampaio continued, "At no point were we made aware of an injury. We will never jeopardise your health to achieve a goal. No matter when an injury occurs, it is tough for an athlete to continue their career. "We spent time to give them support, we do not know what we have ahead of us but regardless of not being with us physically, they are with this team," said the coach. "We feel fragile when we cannot do what we love, especially at a World Cup."
Neymar will be able to play against South Korea if he makes it through Sunday's training session without any setbacks, and Danilo will also be available for Brazil.
