Abia-North: Sen. Kalu Inspects Ongoing construction works at Abam, Okafia

Monday, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents the Abia-North Senatorial District, personally inspected the current building projects he helped enable in the Ozua-Abam and Okafia-Igbere regions of the Arochukwu and Bende L.G.As, respectively.

The inspection exercise was to have an on-the-spot evaluation of the level of work done if they were being completed with the agreed standards, according to Kalu, who serves as the Senate Chief Whip and is in charge of the proceedings.

The former governor of Abia evaluated the current erosion control project in Okafia-Igbere, and Kalu and his crew assessed the continuing Ozu Abam Township Road in Ozua-Abam.

Speaking in Okafia, Kalu said that the erosion control project, which has already moved to an advanced stage, will significantly lessen the suffering of the local population and promote the region's economic growth. He said that the federal government had graciously granted approval for the project in order to address the region's ongoing erosion issue.

The Ozu Abam Township Road, one of the more than 80 ongoing road projects in the Abia North Senatorial District, was briefly inspected by Kalu while he was in Abam on a private visit.

The Senate Chief Whip evaluated the amount of work completed shortly after being shown around and briefed on the status of the project by the project manager of the construction business in charge of it.

In a succinct speech, Kalu highlighted that for the welfare of the populace, the Buhari-led administration had been carrying out infrastructure projects through various government departments and agencies.

The projects, according to the senator, are well-envisioned and demonstrate the administration's sincerity of purpose and responsiveness to the needs of its inhabitants.

He made a plea to the locals to work with the project's contractor in order to find a long-lasting solution to the erosion threat plaguing the area.
