Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserts that the party has "workable measures" to fight unemployment and banditry.
On Monday in Sokoto, Tambuwal, the director general of the PDP presidential campaign committee, made the comments as he welcomed a few new party members.
One of the defectors was Zayyanu Wamakko, the nephew of Aliyu Wamakko, a former governor of Sokoto and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the region.
Tambuwal stated that if the PDP were to win the forthcoming presidential election on February 25, it would "improve the socio-economic lives of Nigerians."
Tambuwal referred to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as Nigerians' "best choice" and urged party supporters to cast their ballots for the PDP in big numbers on election day.
“I want to advise our teeming youths to keep their permanent voter cards (PVCs) safe and engage in house-to-house campaigns for more support to guarantee the victory of PDP at all levels,” he said.
“A PDP government, if elected, has designed workable strategies to end banditry, fight corruption, unemployment, address infrastructural decay and boost the socio-economic life of Nigerians among other issues.”
