Buhari Mourns Renowned Scholar, Ayo Olutokun

President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his condolences to the academic community and the media following the loss of renowned political science professor Ayo Olukotun, whose works bear witness to his allegiance, patriotism, and generosity.

The President considered that the scholar's contributions to nation-building, education, and leadership counselling should be preserved for future generations, according to a statement released on Thursday by his spokeswoman, Mallam Garba Shehu.

President Buhari continued by saying that his departure will be sorely missed, particularly at this time when the country is getting ready for general elections and his opinions have been influential for years.

The researcher, columnist, and administrator also taught at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, the University of Lagos, the Lagos State University, and was a visiting professor of international relations at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. The President expressed his condolences to the researcher's family, friends, and colleagues.

In his prayer, President Buhari asked the Almighty God to console his family and welcome the soul of the deceased.
