Samuel Emmanuel, 38, was sent to Kirikiri Correctional Center on Monday by an Ikeja Chief Magistrate's Court for allegedly having anal intercourse with a juvenile.
The defendant's plea was not heard by Chief Magistrate Mrs B.O Osunsanmi.
He will be held in Kirikiri Correctional Facility until January 25 pending the Director of Public Prosecution's recommendation, per Osunsanmi's order.
The defendant is being tried for sexual assault; he is a baker who lives in the Ileejo neighbourhood of Lekki, Lagos.
According to the prosecution, ASP Raji Akeem, the crime was done on November 25 in the Ile-Ojo neighbourhood of Ibeju, Lekki, Lagos.
