Governor of Bayelsa State Senator Douye Diri has claimed that no one who genuinely loves Nigeria will cast a ballot for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in light of the party's dismal record of central government performance over the last seven years.
During a solidarity visit to the government building in Yenagoa yesterday, Diri was speaking to members of the Ward to Ward for Diri/Lawrence sociopolitical group. He added that supporting the APC in the state is the same as supporting the party's appalling performance at the national level.
However, he asked the state's citizens to cast a large number of votes for all PDP candidates in order to guarantee the party a resounding win in the upcoming general elections.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, said that the PDP must succeed at all levels since the country's current political power cannot be trusted.
He claims that his administration has made significant progress in practically every area of the economy, including infrastructure development, education, security, and sports.
Ogidi Bara Ben, the group's director general, had earlier stated that they were pleased with the current administration's performance in a number of areas, particularly the excellent progress being made in the construction of the Bayelsa Central Senatorial Road.
