Gboyega Oyetola: INEC the biggest winner from Osun tribunal’s decision

Former governor of Osun State Gboyega Oyetola declared that the election petition tribunal's ruling on Friday, which acknowledged his victory in the governorship election on July 16, 2022, was a victory for the nation's democracy as a whole.

Oyetola argued, while no one can claim victory, that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stands to benefit the most from the decision in an interview with reporters from his remote Iragbiji residence.

He declared, “There is no victor, no vanquished. It’s a collective victory for our State and our nation’s democracy.

“I’m happy that the judge resolved the controversy of the July 16 2022, governorship election.

“INEC is the greatest beneficiary of the judgment.”

Oyetola also expressed appreciation to the residents of Osun State and his faithful followers for their continued support of him and the APC.
