Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, a teenage midfielder from Remo Stars in Ogun State, has signed a four-year contract with Serie A powerhouse Inter Milan.
In a statement published on its website on Tuesday, Remo Stars made the announcement.
Akinsanmiro followed in the footsteps of Nigerian athletes who were recruited from the Nigeria Professional League by the best European Leagues, including Christian Obodo, Taiye Taiwo, Seyi Olajengbesi, Obinna Nsofor, and Ederson Echiejile (NPFL).
Akinsanmiro was a product of Remo Stars' academy and a member of the group that assisted the organisation in getting promoted from the Nigeria National League to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for the 2020–2021 campaign.
“He also featured in the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League.
Most notably, Ebenezer featured for the academy team, Beyond Limits in The Creative Championship and Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament,” the statement said.
“Everyone at Remo Stars wishes him all the best during his time with Inter Milan,” it added.
