In order to win this year's presidential election, Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) candidate, has declared he does not require the backing of those who have ruined Nigeria.
In an interview with Arise TV on Thursday morning, Sowore made this assertion.
The AAC presidential candidate was reacting to former President Olusegun Obasanjo's backing of Labour Party nominee Peter Obi.
Sowore asserted that he had greater confidence in the backing and cooperation of common Nigerians than in the support of specific political elites.
“I’m interested in alliances,” Sowore remarked. “People can endorse without having to denigrate themselves.”
“But, my point is this: I don’t need the endorsement of people who have ruined Nigeria. I’m very clear about that.
“The kind of endorsement I want is from the people who decide who their leaders should be.
After all, they’ve done to harm the future, “people who are on the pasture land of life technically should not be dictating the future of young people,” Sowore said.
