The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State management has overturned the suspension order that had previously been imposed on the school's students' union government.
The decision was reversed, according to a statement by the Registrar, Modupe Fawale, because of interventions that allowed for additional consultations.
The students reportedly protested the management's increase in the cost of hostel services, according to Prime 9ja Online.
Prior to travelling to the State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, the students stopped at the school gate and the congested Sango-Poly junction in their hundreds, causing traffic jams. Additionally, all of the roads inside the Secretariat were shut.
The administration claimed, however, that because the students had likewise put their swords away, they had chosen against using the huge stick against them.
“The management will be holding meetings with the leadership of the students to address their perceived grievances.
“The first semester examinations scheduled to commence today (Monday) however remain postponed. A new date for the commencement of the examination will be announced to the students through appropriate channels,” the statement added.
