The Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) seems to be taking the COVID-19 outbreak in China less seriously after Morocco and Canada put restrictions on travellers entering from China due to concerns that the disease would spread to their nations.
The PSC is directed by Mr Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), and is tasked with establishing rules and regulations to stop the spread of COVID-19 across the nation.
However, Prime 9ja Online's attempts to obtain Dr Mukhtar Muhammad, the PSC's National Incident Manager, to comment on the most recent development were ineffective since he declined to do so.
In order to prevent a fresh wave of COVID-19 infections, Morocco said over the weekend that it will impose a restriction on persons travelling from China starting on Tuesday, January 3.
Due to an increase in COVID-19 instances, Australia and Canada have implemented restrictions on travellers from China.
