Ricardo de Burgos named Clasico Super Cup final referee

In a press statement, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) revealed that Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea would officiate the Real Madrid vs. Barcelona Spanish Super Cup final. He will be overseeing "El Clasico" for the second time.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will face off in the Spanish Super Cup final soon. The game is set to begin at 20:00 on Sunday (CET).

Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea will officiate the game, the Spanish FA has stated without further remark. He is regarded as one of Spain's top referees by many people.

Jon Nunez and Roberto Diaz Perez will be the assistant referees, with Muniz Ruiz acting as the fourth official. It has been agreed that Gonzalez Gonzalez will act as the VAR official, with Juan Luis Pulido Santana and Santiago Jaime Latre serving as his assistants.

De Burgos Bengoetxea has participated in two "El Clasicos," the most recent being this one. The initial instance occurred during the 2017 Spanish Super Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo and the referee got into a famous fight during that match, and Cristiano was finally dismissed for diving. The Portuguese player was sent off for assaulting the referee and given a five-game suspension as a result.

Madrid won 1-3 in spite of the red card. Although Real Madrid managed to upset Barcelona despite goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Marco Asensio, and Gerard Pique in addition to Lionel Messi's goal for Barcelona,

De Burgos Bengoetxea has overseen 23 games in La Liga while Barcelona was present. Barca won 16, tied 4, and lost 3 of those 19 games. Madrid has an 18-game winning streak, three draws, and one loss under this referee.
