However, the voter turnout was low as only 43 out of the 324 registered voters were accredited to vote in the polling unit. Peter Obi of the Labour Party also contested and received seven votes.
In the House of Representatives result, the APC scored 31 votes, the PDP had two votes, and the Labour Party polled nine votes.
Although the results are only from one polling unit, they may indicate the overall trend of the election in the state. The voting exercise was generally peaceful in most parts of the country, but some incidents of violence and disruption were reported in some states.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has promised to investigate and address these incidents to ensure that the electoral process is transparent, free, and fair. The commission also urged citizens to remain peaceful and calm while awaiting the official announcement of results.
