There were 18 political parties that participated in the election, and the results for each party were announced. The total valid votes were 1,058,673, with 32,514 votes rejected. The returning officer revealed that some votes were cancelled due to over-voting, violence, thuggery, and insecurity. A total of 51,310 registered voters were affected by the cancellations.
The affected areas included Baure, Danmusa, Daura, Dutsinma, Funtua, Kafur, Kankara, Katsina, Kurfi, Kusada, Maiadua, Malumfashi, Mashi, Sabuwa, and Safana. It is important to note that the PDP candidate defeated prominent politicians such as Tinubu and Kwakwanso in the Katsina State elections.
