2023 Election: Kwankwaso beats Tinubu, Atiku, Obi in Kano
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has won the presidential election in Kano State, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation officer, Lawal Suleiman. Mr Kwankwaso won in 38 out of the 44 local government areas in Kano, securing a total of 997,279 votes. His closest challenger, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC), won in the remaining six local governments. Atiku Abubakar of the People Democratic Party (PDP) came third, winning no local government.

Kano has 5,792,448 registered voters, of which 1,769,952 were accredited for the presidential election. The total votes cast were 1,746,410, with 44,405 votes rejected. Valid votes were 1,702,005. Mr Kwankwaso's victory has been attributed to his popularity and grassroots support in Kano state.

The presidential election in Kano was peaceful, with no significant incidents of violence or disruption reported. Political observers have urged the winners to fulfill their campaign promises and work for the betterment of the people. The presidential election results in Kano have been widely accepted, and the winning candidate has been congratulated by his opponents and supporters alike.
