2023 Election: Labour Party Captures Obaseki’s Constituency, Senatorial Seats

During the state's presidential and National Assembly elections, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki lost his polling place, ward, local government, and senatorial district to the Labour Party (LP).

The LP candidate received 167,250 votes, according to the figures announced by the district returning officer, Prof. A. Obasuyi.

Imasuen outperformed the candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Party (APC), who received 57,933 and 61,749 votes, respectively.

Moreover, Mr Iyawe Eseosa of the LP won the seat in the governor's Oredo federal district.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member Governor Obaseki had pledged to deliver votes from Edo State for the PDP during elections in Delta State.
