In contrast, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State secured their seats in the Senate.
Umahi, who ran under the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged as senator-elect for Ebonyi South senatorial district after garnering 28,378 votes, while Bello won the Niger North senatorial election with 100,197 votes under the APC, beating out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidates.
