Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged victorious in the presidential election held in Borno State. Borno is the home state of Senator Kashim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate of the APC.

The election result was announced on Tuesday at the state collation centre by the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Wukari, who served as the collation officer. According to him, Tinubu garnered a total of 252,282 votes to defeat all other candidates.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, came in second place with 190,921 votes. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the Labor Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, secured a total of 4,626 and 7,205 votes, respectively.

Tinubu's victory in Borno State is a significant boost for his presidential bid, as it is one of the states with the highest number of registered voters in the country. The outcome of the election in Borno State also indicates that the APC has a stronghold in the North-East region of Nigeria.

The result of the election has been widely accepted by supporters of all parties, with no reports of violence or protests. The peaceful conduct of the election in Borno State is a positive development for Nigeria's democracy and a testament to the commitment of the electoral body and security agencies in ensuring a credible and peaceful election.
