According to the collation officer, Professor Arma Ya’u Hamisu Bichi of Federal University Dutsin Ma, the election was peaceful. The breakdown of the results shows that the Labour Party (LP) polled 1,889 votes, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) garnered 98,234 votes, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored 386,587 votes.
In addition to the presidential election, the APC won two senatorial seats and eight House of Representatives seats in Jigawa State, while the opposition PDP won one senatorial and two House of Representatives seats. The NNPP also won one House of Representatives seat.
Alhaji Mustapha Khabib of PDP won in Jigawa southwest with 153,730 votes, while Alhaji Babangida Husaini, the APC candidate, won the Jigawa northwest senatorial seat with 187,049 votes. Ambassador Abdulhamid Ahmed Malammadori, another APC candidate, won the Jigawa northeast senatorial seat with 136,977 votes.
