2023: Soldier Warns Against Election Day Disruptions (Video)

A video of Nigerian soldiers warning against any form of disruption during the February 25 presidential polls has gone viral on social media.

The soldiers, who have been deployed to various cities ahead of the election, threatened to deal with anyone who attempts to cause trouble at polling units.

In the video, one soldier warned potential troublemakers that "if you go there on Saturday and do anyhow, we go chop your father eye." This warning comes as part of the military's efforts to ensure a peaceful and orderly election process.

The Nigerian military has been deployed in large numbers across the country to maintain law and order during the elections.

Their presence has been seen as reassuring by many Nigerians who have expressed concerns about potential violence and disruption. The soldiers have also been tasked with protecting election materials and polling stations from attacks by criminals or political thugs.

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and credible election. In a statement, the army spokesman urged Nigerians to conduct themselves peacefully and to cooperate with security agencies in maintaining law and order.

The spokesman also warned political actors against any form of violence or electoral malpractice, stating that the army would not hesitate to deal with anyone found to be breaking the law.

As Nigerians prepare to go to the polls on February 25, there is a growing sense of apprehension about the potential for violence and disruption.

However, the deployment of soldiers and other security agencies has helped to calm nerves and provide reassurance to voters. The warning issued by the soldiers in the video underscores the determination of the military to ensure a peaceful and successful election.
