He and Dr Mani Ibrahim Ahmad, the head of the party’s board of trustees, led a group of 20 ADC members to meet with Obasanjo in Abeokuta.
They talked about issues related to the general elections.
Among others on the trip were Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, the national chairman; Alhaji Said Baba Abdullahi, the national secretary; and Ifenla Oligbinde, the director of communications and programmes.
Monye, speaking for the delegation, told Obasanjo that the reason for the visit was for the party to talk with the elder statesman and get his advice on what was best for Nigeria.
He said, “we are in interesting times and such times require careful navigation.”
During the visit, the chieftains said that the party was still committed to a new Nigeria and that it had started to make strategic contributions to the election process to help it go well.
In response, Obasanjo praised the party for its dedication to building the country and promised to continue to back its efforts to build the country.
