Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the President of CAN, issued a statement emphasizing the need for a peaceful transition of leadership during the elections and calling for the elimination of religious and ethnic biases.
Okoh also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a seamless, credible, and violence-free election and for the authorities to enhance security in vulnerable communities to prevent disenfranchisement.
He implored the security agencies to remain neutral in their duties and called on political parties and candidates to accept the election results in good faith.
Additionally, Okoh expressed concern over the shortage of naira notes in the country and asked President Muhammadu Buhari to take action to alleviate the suffering.
He encouraged all citizens to continue praying for the country and wished for peaceful elections in 2023.
