C'River LG Chairman Passes Away After Presidential Election Meeting

The late Queen of the South, Mrs Esther Bassey, the Chairman of Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State, has sadly passed away after attending an important meeting on the eve of Saturday's election. Sources close to the deceased have revealed that she had been in good health the night prior to her passing.

The news of Bassey's passing has sent shockwaves throughout the local government, as the late chairman was a highly respected individual who was beloved by all. She had a long history of service to the community and will be sorely missed by those she served.

Bassey's passing has left a void in the local government, and her friends, family, and colleagues have expressed their deep sadness and grief over the tragedy. Her memory will continue to be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

The people of Calabar South Local Government Area are mourning the loss of the Queen of the South, and are asking that her legacy of service, compassion, and kindness be remembered and honoured.

“She attended a series of meetings to prepare for tomorrow’s presidential election. She held some meetings yesterday close to the night.

“She showed no signs of exhaustion or sickness when she retired later in the evening”, one of the aides said.

The former council boss reportedly passed on in her sleep around 4am in Calabar.
