Ambassador Chris Iyama, the Country Director for Equity International Initiatives (EII), revealed that the organisation has been undertaking efforts throughout 2022 to mobilise over 15 million young voters from all over Nigeria to register and cast their ballots in 2023 general elections.

Their mission was to promote voter education and create awareness among citizens on the need to actively participate in the electoral process.

In addition, they launched a data-hub with personnel representing different geopolitical zones in order to provide effective and efficient real-time observation of events leading up to the 2023 election.

The Election Situation Room will provide information such as security personnel's conduct during elections, arrival of electoral materials and other happenings concerning election credibility.

The remarkable efforts put forth by EII were acknowledged by Dr Yakubu Joseph, Country Director of Mission 21; Mrs Toyin Wiggins, Board Member and African Project Lead at Change Makers; who both praised the organisation’s initiatives specially focusing on people with disabilities and encouraging their participation in deciding who governs them and electing a credible political process.
