Lagos, Ogun get new CPs as IGP redeploys DIGs, AIGs, CPs

The Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs), Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs), and Commissioners of Police (CPs) have been directed to transfer to other departments, commands, and formations by Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

That is completely consistent with his human resource development strategy, which places a strong emphasis on placing qualified candidates in open jobs.

DIG Danmallam Mohammed had been assigned to the Department of Finance and Administration, according to a statement made on Tuesday by Muyiwa Adejobi.

AIG Aji A. Janga and AIG Hafiz M. Inuwa have been sent to take over the DIG Departments of Training and Development and Research and Planning, respectively.

Currently serving as the DIG for the Department of Operations is AIG Adeleke A. Bode. The Force Secretary is currently AIG Habu Sani Ahmadu, and the Force Intelligence Bureau is under the direction of AIG Shuaya'u Lafia Abdulyari at Force Headquarters in Abuja.

AIG Zone 6 Calabar is currently under the command of CP Jonathan Towuru, while the AIG Police Mobile Force is now under the command of CP Matthew Akinyosola.

The AIG for Zone 2 in Lagos will also be replaced by CP Sylvester A. Alabi. As of right now, CP Abimbola Adebola Shokoya will be the AIG for Zone 17 in Akure and CP Akande Sikiru Kayode will be the AIG for Zone 11 in Osogbo.

The IGP added that CPs would be distributed to various locations. CP Emeka Frank Mba will now be in control of Ogun State, and CP Adebola A. Hamzat will be in charge of Adamawa State.

Additionally, CP Taraba State Suleiman A. Yusuf is now in charge. As of right now, CP Faleye E.S. Olaleye is in control as CP Ebonyi State, while CP Idowu Owohunwa is the new CP for Lagos State.

In order to make sure that his administration's purpose, vision, and policy declarations are well followed in terms of combating crime, collaborating with the public, and maintaining public safety, the IGP has instructed the newly posted officers to get to work immediately away.

In order for the newly assigned senior officers to do their duties as effectively as possible, he also appealed for the public's assistance and cooperation.
