Nigerian popular tiktoker sent to prison

A Kano State Sharia court in Filin Hoki, Kano, sent popular Tiktok user Murja Ibrahim Kunya to prison. She is charged with violating Islamic law and making threats on Tiktok.

Murja appeared before Abdullahi Halliru in court on two charges of allegedly threatening to harm some people and disseminating incendiary videos that go against Islamic principles and could lead others astray.

Keep in mind that the police took the Tiktoker after the Council of Ulama complained.

However, when she was taken before the court, she asserted that she was innocent of the allegations.

The judge ordered the inmate to stay in custody and postponed the matter until February 16, 2023, when the hearing would resume.

In the midst of this, Kunya's attorney, Barrister Yasir Musa, pleaded with the judge to spare her from prison and instead send her to Hisbah custody or the police. However, Barrister Lamido ABBA Soron Dinki, the defendant's attorney, disagreed.
