The fighting broke out on Tuesday after a dispute between the two camps in the Kuwa Nguro and Ngoldiri communities in the Timbuktu triangle axis in Damboa, Borno state.
A counter-insurgency magazine called Zagazola Makama says that the fight lasted for three hours and that fighters on both sides were killed.
However, it is unclear how many people died in the fight.
Several other insurgents were hurt, the Boko Haram camp was raided, and weapons and motorcycles were taken.
Ali Hajja Fusam is said to be the new leader of the Boko Haram sect in Gaizuwa, a community in the Bama LGA of Borno. This is part of the group’s plan to rebuild its field forces.
But a fight broke out when Fusam’s group was attacked in Gulmari village in Konduga LGA of the state as he returned from Ali Ngulde’s camp in Mandara mountain. Ngulde is Boko Haram’s overall field commander.
One gun truck, eight motorcycles, and weapons were provided to Fusam by Ngulde, according to information obtained by Zagazola Makama.
Fusam managed to flee the attack scene, but reports indicate that 15 Boko Haram members were killed, and the ISWAP camp captured one gun truck.
The situation took a new turn on Thursday. Zagazola Makama reported that Boko Haram terrorists ambushed and killed six fighters from the ISWAP camp in Burmari village in Konduga LGA.
Several ISWAP fighters were also hurt, and three motorcycles were taken. After being “overpowered” by the Boko Haram camp, some fighters escaped to the Hasanari village in Konduga.
