Following the reported death of a student at Chrisland School in Opebi, Ikeja, the Lagos State government has ordered the school's temporary closure.
The closure was ordered by the state government in a release signed by the State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, pending the outcome of a full investigation into the unfortunate incident.
Mrs. Adefisayo, on behalf of the State Ministry of Education, expressed condolences to Mr. and Mrs. Adeniran, Whytney's parents, and prayed for her soul's repose.
"We also take note of the impact of this unfortunate event on Whytney's family, friends, and acquaintances and urge calm as we assure you that no effort will be spared in investigating the incident," the Commissioner said.
It would be recalled that the student was said to have slumped and died during the school’s inter-house sports event.
