The political parties have already fielded their candidates, and INEC is distributing ballot papers and results sheets to the local government areas. The materials will be batched on Thursday and arrive at the RAC centres on Friday. They would then be moved to the various polling units for the election early on Saturday. BVAS will also be deployed for the Saturday exercise, which has been reconfigured and is fully operational.
The Chairman of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state, Adesanya Olaoluwa, who witnessed the distribution of materials, said that the political parties are optimistic that INEC would deliver on its promises by ensuring the timely arrival of materials.
He also called on the electorate in the state to come out en masse for the exercise to elect their representatives to the parliamentary house, stating that the lawmakers would be making laws on their behalf.
While the IPAC chairman confirmed that only 17 of the 18 registered political parties would participate in the Saturday poll in Ondo, the police announced the deployment of 5,000 officers, including mobile police officers, to maintain security at the polling units.
