Enugu: Ohanaeze Youth Support PDP's Peter Mbah
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) has reaffirmed its support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Enugu State, Peter Mbah. According to the National President of the OYC, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike Mbah is the most competent among all the candidates standing for the election.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Nnabuike urged the electorate to vote for a man who could transform Enugu State rather than voting based on party affiliation.

Nnabuike stated that Mbah had outlined a clear plan for how he would manage the affairs of Enugu State and had demonstrated top-notch competence in his successful business career.

The group urged the people of Enugu State to take advantage of the opportunity of electing a man prepared for the job, emphasising that Mbah had captured every sector and all segments of the society, including the youth.

The OYC president added that the choice of candidates was no longer decided by party leanings but rather on the capacity of the various individuals in the contest.

He also cited the support that former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, received across party lines during the presidential election as an example of how the electorate should vote for competent and humane candidates, regardless of party affiliation.

The OYC is a youth arm of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation. The group has advocated and mobilised for Igbo interests in Nigeria and beyond.

In recent years, the OYC has been vocal on issues such as the restructuring of Nigeria, the quest for an Igbo presidency, and the security of the Southeast region, which has been plagued by violent attacks by secessionist groups and criminal gangs.
