Fashola assures completion of Benin-Auchi-Okene Expressway
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has given an assurance that the Benin-Auchi-Okene Expressway in Edo State will be completed soon.

Fashola made the assurance during a meeting with the senator-elect representing Edo Central, Monday Okpebholo, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.

The minister disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari had released funds to the contractors handling the project.

Fashola further stated that palliative works would commence soon at the Irrua-Ekpoma failed section of the road to allay the fears of motorists ahead of the rainy season.

He emphasised the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the country’s infrastructure, particularly roads, as it would spur economic growth and development.

Senator-elect Okpebholo expressed optimism about the Federal Government's commitment to improving infrastructure in the region, stating that the assurance by Fashola was a sign of "the good things to come for the people of Esanland from APC and the incoming government of the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu."

He added that he had promised his constituents during his election campaign to work hard with the Federal Government to bring relief to Esanland over the deplorable condition of the roads, especially the expressway that had caused untold hardship to his people.
