A father and his son were killed in an auto accident along Jimba-Oja near Idofian in Kwara State's Ifelodun local government area yesterday.
The deceased were riding on a motorcycle with the registration number MUN 957 QA when a Toyota Camry car with the registration number LEM 568 TK rammed into them at high speed.
Prime9jaOnline learned that the incident sparked a protest by residents of the community who were outraged by the area's recent high fatality rate and frequent accidents.
Frederick Ogidan, the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kwara State, confirmed the incident.
He stated that the two Toyota Camry occupants were injured, while the motorcyclist and his boy were later confirmed dead at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin.
“The command is looking at putting some rumbling stripes along the road to reduce speed because bumps would worsen the situation.
“We have succeeded in calming the protesting youths and advised them to always use helmet when riding Okada and look very well before entering the road,” Ogidan said.
