Local news outlets have confirmed that popular Ghanaian comic rapper and social media sensation Ahuofe Abrantie, also known as 'Ghana Tupac,' has died.

Although details about Ahuofe's death are still sketchy, he died in his Kumasi apartment in the early hours of Thursday, shortly after completing a 16-hour live-streaming session.

He was 21 years old.

Jay Bhad of Asakaa Boys fame, a popular Kumasi rapper, posted a cryptic video of Ahuofe with the caption, "Life too short, rest well Ahuofe, you gone (sic) be miss 4ever."

TV3 Ghana also confirmed Ahuofe's death with a video and the caption, "Popular Ghanaian Tik Toker, Ahuofe reportedly dead."

Ahuofe rose to prominence a few months ago due to a passing resemblance to late American rapper Tupac Shakur, taking advantage of that by taking over the persona of the real Tupac including the gangster lifestyle of the late rapper.

He regularly posts videos of himself on TikTok rapping and wearing big jewellery while gallivanting around, a culture that was vastly popular with rappers in the United States during the 80s and 90s.

The comedian had amassed an impressive 3.9 million followers and over 39.8 million viewers on his TikTok’s 217 videos as at the time of filing this report.
