PDP, Labour Accused of Conspiring with Russian Hackers to Interfere with Election Results
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chief mobiliser, Ekene Enefe, has accused the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and The Labour Party of using foreign hackers to attack the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) server in a bid to subvert the will of voters during Nigeria’s 2019 presidential polls.

Addressing journalists on Friday via ARISE TV, Mr Enefe alleged that the parties had hired Russian and Israeli hackers for the task. According to Mr Enefe, these attempts were unsuccessful as INEC was unable to transmit electronic results during this period of time.

He went on to further accuse PDP's representative- Atiku Abubakar and spokesman- Mr Ibe of ‘turning defence into attack' by attempting to create chaos and blame INEC. The Labour Party could not be reached immediately for comments.

Although INEC spokesman Festus Okoye did not respond to requests seeking clarifications on the matter, it is clear that Nigerians are aware of the implications that this kind of activity has in undermining people’s right to fair representation.
