Police Neutralise Bandit, Seize AK47 in Kaduna
Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command, attached to Operation Whirl Punch, have neutralised a bandit and recovered an AK-47 rifle with two rounds of live ammunition. According to a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, the operation was conducted on March 13 following credible intelligence received that bandits on a nefarious mission had blocked Galadimawa-Tumburku Road in Giwa Local Government Area.

Jalige said the police operatives, led by DPO Kidandan, swiftly mobilised to the scene, engaged the bandits in a gun duel, and countered their heinous raid. This forced them to flee into a nearby bush with possible gunshot wounds. The bandit neutralised during the operation was identified as one of the criminals involved in the blockade.

The State Commissioner of Police, Yekini Ayoku, commended the effort of the operatives, assuring members of the public that the command will continue to be resilient in its determination to ensure that criminal elements are denied the space to carry out their villainous activities.

The successful operation is part of the Command's ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements, particularly bandits, who have been terrorising residents in recent times. The bandits have been responsible for attacks on communities, kidnappings, and killings of innocent people, causing panic and fear among the residents.

The police have been working tirelessly to apprehend the criminals, often conducting raids on their hideouts and engaging them in gun battles. The Command has also been collaborating with other security agencies and community leaders to ensure that the criminals are apprehended and brought to justice.

The recent operation is expected to send a strong message to other criminal elements in the state, particularly bandits, that the police will not rest until they are all apprehended and brought to justice. It also demonstrates the Command's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the residents of Kaduna State.

The police have called on members of the public to continue to provide them with credible intelligence that will aid their operations. The Command has also assured the public that their safety and security are of utmost importance and that they should not hesitate to report any suspicious activities in their communities.

Meanwhile, the recovered AK-47 rifle and ammunition will be subjected to forensic analysis to determine their source and a possible link to other criminal activities in the state. This is part of the Command's efforts to trace the source of the weapons used by the criminals and to identify and dismantle their supply chain.
