According to Oriyomi, the defendants assaulted one Insp Adepoju Adewunmi and injured him. Additionally, the defendant and another person at large assaulted one Sgt. Duduyegbe Olatunbosun while he was performing his lawful duty. The prosecutor added that the offences contravene Sections 186 and 187(a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him. The Chief Magistrate, Mr Bankole Oluwasanmi, granted the defendant bail of N50,000 with one surety in like sum. The magistrate adjourned the case till April 26 for a hearing.
