VP Osinbajo to deliver lecture at King's College London
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo left Abuja on Sunday for London where he is scheduled to deliver a public lecture on Monday at the King's College. The lecture is part of the school's annual Africa Week 2023 events.

According to a statement by his spokesperson, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo was invited to speak at the lecture as a political and thought leader from Africa. His speech will focus on the question of how Africa can prosper in an increasingly complex world.

The vice president will be hosted as a special guest by the King's College Africa Leadership Centre (ALC) and will confer with top officials of the prestigious institution ahead of his lecture.

The theme of the King's College Africa Week 2023 is "Changing Africa in a Shifting Global Landscape." Africa Week is an annual celebration of research, education, and outreach activities on Africa, bringing together academics, researchers, and students, and offering an opportunity to hear from African scholars, leaders, and thinkers.

Founded in 1829 by King George IV and the Duke of Wellington, King's College was one of the two founding colleges of the University of London when the university was established later in 1836.

Osinbajo's lecture is expected to offer insight into the challenges facing Africa in the 21st century, and how the continent can leverage its strengths to achieve greater prosperity in a rapidly changing world.

The vice president is expected to return to Nigeria later in the week, following what is expected to be a productive visit to London, where he will have the opportunity to engage with other leaders and experts in academia and government.

The visit to King's College and the Africa Week 2023 events is part of the Nigerian government's ongoing efforts to deepen engagement with the global community, build new partnerships, and drive economic growth and development.
