Soludo congratulated the Muslim faithful on the completion of the month-long fast and noted that the spiritual exercise had brought them closer to Allah. He urged Muslims and other Nigerians to live in peace, love and harmony with one another as brothers and sisters. Ramadan, he said, is a season of discipline and sacrifice, and he urged Muslims to celebrate with modesty and remember the underprivileged among them.
“The holy month of Ramadan, no doubt, has drawn you closer to the Almighty Allah. The period was one characterised by discipline, humility and love for fellow men and women. I urge you not to depart from these noble principles," Soludo said. “Let these teachings of the holy month define your future relationship with fellow Muslims and other citizens. I urge you not to lose hope in the country, irrespective of the difficulties and economic challenges the country is currently passing.”
The Governor called on Nigerian leaders, irrespective of religion and denomination, to draw from the lessons of Ramadan in ensuring justice, equity and good governance for every citizen. He stressed that leadership is a trust for which they would render an account of their stewardship to God in the fullness of time.
Soludo also sued for peace among the component parts of the country, emphasising that without peace, no meaningful development can take place. He urged Nigerians to see themselves as one, united and indivisible nation, and to work towards a better future for all.
“Let us work together as a nation, regardless of our religious, ethnic or political differences, to build a country that we can all be proud of. Let us draw inspiration from the lessons of Ramadan and work towards a future that is characterised by peace, love, and prosperity for all,” he said.
The Governor assured Anambra residents of his administration's commitment to delivering good governance, security, and development to the State. He called on the people to continue to support his administration's efforts to transform the State and make it a better place for all.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, I want to assure the good people of Anambra State that my administration will continue to work tirelessly to deliver good governance, security, and development to the State. We will continue to prioritise the needs of the people and work towards making Anambra a better place for all,” he said.
Governor Soludo's message comes amidst growing insecurity, economic challenges, and social unrest in Nigeria. The country is facing a range of issues, including the Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and a sluggish economy. However, Soludo's message of hope and unity is a reminder that despite the challenges, Nigerians can still work together to build a better future for all.
