Peter Obi urges supporters to persevere
Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, has called on his supporters to see the recent attacks against them as a sacrifice necessary to create a new and better Nigeria. In a series of tweets on Easter Monday, Obi urged his followers to remain focused on their mission of creating a country that is just, fair, and prosperous, despite the challenges they face.

Obi acknowledged the challenges Nigeria faces, including a flawed electoral process, insecurity, weak institutions, multidimensional poverty, unemployment, inflation, and lack of justice, fairness, equity, and opportunities. He also sympathised with his supporters who have been subjected to vitriol and physical attacks, even from some of the nation's civic leaders.

Obi called on his supporters to remain peaceful and avoid being dragged into needless conflicts. He emphasised that his movement is fully structured and focused on addressing Nigeria's problems while upholding the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law.

Obi urged his followers to remain steadfast in their mission to rescue Nigeria from those engaged in state capture. He assured them that their sacrifices would not be in vain and that they would ultimately create a new Nigeria that is possible.

In his closing remarks, Obi implored his supporters to be law-abiding, respectful, and peaceful, even in the face of controversy and challenges. He quoted Dr Martin Luther King, Jr., reminding them that the true measure of a person is not how they behave in moments of comfort and convenience but how they stand in times of difficulty.

Obi's message comes at a time when his supporters are under attack from various quarters, particularly on social media. Nevertheless, he remains resolute in his mission to create a new Nigeria, and he urged his supporters to remain focused on the goal. With his running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmad, by his side, Obi promised to use all lawful and peaceful means allowed under the Constitution to reclaim their mandate to create a better Nigeria.
