The announcement was made through a statement issued by the Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Tuesday in Kano.
The executive secretary of the board, Muhammad Danbatta, has been relieved of his duties and replaced with Laminu Rabiu. Additionally, Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, the chairman of the board, has been sacked and replaced by Yusuf Lawan.
The daughter of the late Islamic cleric Sheikh Jafar Mahmud Adam, Malama Nana Aisha, has also been removed from her position.
To fill the vacancies, the Governor has appointed Sheikh Abbas Abubakar Daneji, Sheikh Shehi Maihula, Amb. Munir Lawan, Sheikh Isma'il Mangu, Aishatu Munir Matawalle, and Sani Ashir as new members of the board.
The statement emphasised that the newly appointed members are expected to assume their responsibilities immediately and ensure a successful Hajj operation in 2023.
