TikTok Musician and Manager Arrested in EFCC's Internet Fraud Sting
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken swift action in the fight against internet-related fraud by apprehending a prominent TikTok musician, Crown Uzama, and his manager, Ajayi Hafeez. The EFCC's spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed this development in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja.

In addition to Crown Uzama and Ajayi Hafeez, 29 other individuals have also been arrested as part of the investigation. Among them are four females: Glory Kelvin-Ogunwa, Tina Ochonogor, Favour Dawa, and Joseph Iya. The EFCC aims to address the growing concern of internet fraud in the country and hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

The list of suspects arrested includes Adewale Adedokun, Yakubu Ojochememi, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, Umoru AbdulAzeez, Emmanuel Iwebo, Shuaibu Smart, Joel Kator, Gowon Titus, Emmanuel Daniel, Enough Ekpo, Atano Eben, Ijuo Ochi, Paul Kaye, Uyit Victor, and David Yachai. Furthermore, the EFCC apprehended Leche Sokomba, Onoja Uroko, Cornelius Agbodesi, Edigim Success, Azubuike Oniya, Usman Shereef, Victory Chiemela, Lambert Chikwado, Asoore Oloruntoba, and Malik Jibril.

These arrests were made following credible intelligence regarding a planned event involving suspected internet fraudsters in Barnawa, Kaduna. The EFCC conducted sting operations at various locations, including Disney Park Lounge, Epitome, and Tomoso Hotels, all situated in the Barnawa area.

During the operations, law enforcement authorities seized several items of interest, including mobile phones, laptop computers, and two vehicles. The recovered evidence will play a crucial role in further investigations and potentially shed light on the extent of the alleged internet-related fraud committed by the suspects.

Once the investigation concludes, the apprehended individuals will face legal proceedings and be brought before the court. The EFCC's commitment to combating cybercrime and protecting the public from online scams remains resolute.

Efforts to eradicate internet-related fraud require ongoing collaboration between law enforcement agencies, government bodies, and the public. It is crucial for individuals to exercise caution while engaging in online activities and report any suspicious behaviour to the appropriate authorities.

The EFCC's operation serves as a reminder that internet fraudsters will be pursued and held accountable for their actions, ultimately safeguarding the interests of Nigerian society.
