Edo Governor Wishes Joyful Eid Celebration for Muslims
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community in Edo State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year's Eid-el-Kabir festivities.

In an Eid-el-Kabir message delivered on Tuesday, Governor Obaseki emphasised the government's commitment to collaborating with security authorities to ensure a peaceful celebration for the Muslim faithful.

He urged both Muslims and non-Muslims to embrace the essence of sacrifice, which is synonymous with this season, and to strive for a deeper sense of responsibility towards God and humanity while contemplating the lessons it imparts.

"I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters as we mark the Eid-el-Kabir festivities," expressed Governor Obaseki. "On the occasion of this auspicious celebration, I urge everyone to imbibe the lesson of sacrifice, which is the hallmark of this season. We should all endeavour to seek to have a deeper and greater responsibility to God and to humanity as we reflect on the lessons of the season," he continued.

The governor called on all individuals to recommit themselves to God and diligently uphold the virtues of patience, tolerance, and love. Recognising the challenging circumstances faced by the nation, Governor Obaseki emphasised the need for unity and collaboration, transcending ethnic and religious boundaries, to foster collective progress.

"We are in dire straits as a nation, but it is a period that demands that we work together in unison and join hands across ethnoreligious inclinations for our collective progress," Governor Obaseki stressed.

Governor Obaseki also assured the public that close cooperation with security authorities is being maintained to ensure a peaceful celebration for the Muslim community.

The full text of Governor Obaseki's Eid-el-Kabir message reads:

"I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters as we mark the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.

On the occasion of this auspicious celebration, I urge everyone to imbibe the lesson of sacrifice, which is the hallmark of this season. We should all endeavour to seek to have a deeper and greater responsibility to God and to humanity as we reflect on the lessons of the season.

I enjoin everyone to rededicate ourselves to our Creator, working assiduously to sustain the virtues of patience, tolerance, and love.

We are in dire straits as a nation, but it is a period that demands that we work together in unison and join hands across ethnoreligious inclinations for our collective progress.

We are working closely with security authorities to ensure our Muslim faithful have a peaceful celebration.

His Excellency,
Godwin Obaseki
Governor, Edo State
"

With Governor Obaseki's sincere greetings and assurance of security, the Muslim community in Edo State can observe the Eid-el-Kabir festivities in a peaceful and joyful atmosphere.
